pre beat audio clip issue

Post by den372 » Tue Nov 24, 2009 4:02 pm

HI I am trying to determine the exact beats per measure (tempo) from an audio clip so that I can generate the beats in midi, and assign a bass drum patch to the midi notes. The reason I am doing this is so I can include a 4 count-off beat prior to the audio clip commencing. The pre-count must be in time with the audio clip. Any thoughts appreciated.

1. If your clip is warped and you have set warp markers specifically to your tastes into it, your Clip Properties should reveal the original bpm of the clip which you can then input into Live's master tempo.

2. If you right click the metronome i think it is, you can choose to have a count-in beat.

Thanks for the reply. This is a great idea unfortunatly I need a bass drum sound for count in. Additionally I need to master this to a cd for live performance. Do you know if the motronome sound can be captured as an audio waveform?

You can record the output of your audiocard. You need to repatch of course, but yeah, this is the way to do it. This gives you the opportunity to check your real latency too...
