Triggering Sampler continiously without keyboard ?

Post by McKlimm » Fri Nov 27, 2009 5:46 pm

Is there a way to make "Sampler" play a sample continiously without pressing a key on the keyboard ?
I want to fiddle with envelopes and filters on a loop that I did in Sampler - and use both hands for fiddling :-)
If I record the trigger note on a MIDI track I have to rewind the song to the beginning to trigger Sampler.
So an ideal way would be to tell Sampler to play the loop whenever I hit Live's transport button.
Then I could play with the knobs and record the results.....
I am still pretty new to Sampler, so if my question is ridiculous - excuse me plz.
Thanks for reading

Make a MIDI clip with one note in it that spans the whole clip?

Then a continuous note will play while you fiddle with knobs.

Hi outershpongolia,
that might work, but it's a forward-reverse loop, so once started there is no real point to
re-trigger with a new note. Guess I'll have to bounce it to an audio track. Then I can loop it there -
but have no access to Sampler's envelopes anymore....
Wait...If I find a trigger point after the loop did one forward/reverse cycle....
I'll try that.
Thanks a lot, that might work.
