An emcee in a liveset

Post by Der Vogelfrei » Sat Mar 05, 2005 6:59 pm

I want to do a set with an emcee and a human beatbox. Anyone know how I can plug the mic into ableton so that he raps in time and I record his vocals live and can apply fx in real time. I am most ignorant in this fiend Im afraid.

a soundcard with which you can reach real low latency settings (under 5ms) would be nice. in this particular case, even your onboard sound could do the trick using asio4all. if you can, spend your money on a RME...

don't use mics that are too sensitive (picking up pa sound), you know...

in Live, select a track, in which you select the appropriate input, and arm the track. add fx to your liking, start recording, or just monitor...

this technique, using clip envelopes on a live input , is very fun with a live MC. For best results, go for the lowest latency possible.
