Live 8.1 XP Crashing A Lot

WinXP - QuadCore - Live 8.1 with Max for Live

Live is crashing a lot during routine operations, like reordering plug-ins on a channel while audio is playing. I've wasted hours rebooting during my production session tonight. 8.1 is NOT usable for me. Having to revert to 8.0.9 for productivity reasons. Very disappointing. I've never experienced this kind of instability with Live before, over the many years that I've been using it.

Hi ,

I'm having many crashes as well on my 8.1 Mac version. is it possible to open a project saved in 8.1 version on 8.0x version of live ?

Hi Efirand,

as Live 8.1 introduces a new file format it is unfortunately not possible to open the sets in earlier versions of Live, as stated on the download page for Live 8.1:

I would recommend to give the latest beta, Live 8.1.b1 a try:

In addition to that, it is never a bad idea to try deactivating your plug-in folder(s) and reloading the set thereafter in order to narrow down the problem to a possible plug-in conflict, and (of course) contact [email protected]
