What would you recommend buying as your first plug-in?

Not on my machine you don't. You get a nag window for a few seconds which then disappears. Not that I'm arguing against paying for them, awesome plugs.

Don't you get the little box that says "do the right thing and buy" then an automatic link opens to the Stillwell site?

Anyway, this is the only difference between the paid version and the ongoing demo. So I guess the only real incentive is to salve your conscience and support the developers.

I can't recommend Stillwell enough though - great sounding plugins, UNBELIEVABLE value for money and I also like the "use your ears & have fun" approach they take.

If The Rocket came as hardware and cost big $$, it'd soon become as ubiquitous as Empirical Lab's Distressor.

That should only happen if you CLICK on the little box. If you wait, it will go away on its own and not take you to the web site.

If you're registered, a much shorter "thank you" message comes up, and clicking IT just makes it go away...no web browsing involved.

Buy a copy of Computer Music magazine, the cover disc has ZebraCM, an awesome synth. There are some other good things too.
