I think it would be really cool to be able to add markers to a track in its Clip View. Maybe colored red or something so they stand out. I'm not talking about Warp Markers, but markers that would act almost like cue points. I know that the basic idea of what I am thinking can be achieved by creating different clips of the same track with different start points. I think it would be great to have user-created markers that you could name - just like in arrangement view - but they would be saved with the track by clicking the save button on the clip. This means they would carry over when a clip is dragged in arrangement view. It would be very useful to be able to mark and label a spot in the clip like break, loop, chorus, etc. There has been many times when I remember a part of a track that I wanted to loop or crop (or steal) but if the part is say, less than one bar, I have to zoom all over the track to find it.
Does anyone think this may be useful? Maybe it's just the way I work with Live, but it would be a huge help. By the way, I lost a bunch of .asd files and I remembered that version 7 had a Copy Warp Marker function. Is that function gone? Was it replaced by a similar, less obvious function?
Thanks for your input!!!!

Yes please. Colored markers that look like warp points, but only serve as a visual aid.

yes that would be great. What would be even cooler if they added marker with added functionality similar to follow actions, ie. you could use special types of markers to alter the play order within a clip (this would then incorporate the most basic form of this: looping, but also other behaviours like skipping sections, looping certain sections for certain amounts of loops then continuing...etc.
Basically it would allow flexible "arranging" within a sample.

Another kind of markers where we could put short texts would be great, or at least if the warp markers could be colored, I guess that would do the job.

Re: MARKERS IN A TRACKS CLIP VIEW!!!!
Would love to see this addition. Something I've tried to do with existing warp markers/notes - which can get a bit confusing (and can be quite cluttered a way of working) whilst DJing live and being in the moment.
I think it would be great, especially from a DJ point of view, as would allow you to see where the percussion/kick/melody build and fade on a song - which could make for some pretty tight mixing and overlaying whilst DJing (whilst keeping the mix clean and keeping good separation between the elements).

replying to an ancient post, but i was just about to make a post like this.
I really need this for labeling chords and key changes within a clip. sometimes i add the topline in the same midi clip as my chords or bassline. when I scroll up to a different octave for that, its easy to lose track of which chord I'm writing on top of. just a lil marker would help with that. If you could jump between markers with < track > buttons on a nanokontrol2 or similar controller it would make editing long midi clips at slow tempos so much faster.
also, just in general its good to be able to annotate stuff. I use the info text occasionally but its just not the same as having it on the clip.
