I used this same technique to make a Loop Sequencer :) :).. now i'm all Randomed out :( :(

Basically each time you hit a pad on the Launchpad, it turns a different color on the step sequencer. Each color is then assigned to a different sound :D :D But instead of arranging individual notes, it arranges synchronized loops from Simpler. So it works out looking like a tactile ghetto DAW.

example:
(g,o,r = green orange red illuminated buttons from Launchpad)

Row 1: g=beat1 o=beat2 r=fill

/g/g/g/o/g/g/g/r/ then you have a fill on the 8th bar. and a beat variation on the 4th bar.

Row 2: g=C(bassline) o=F(bassline) r=G (bassline)

/r/r/o/o/g/g/r/r/ this would be similar to the last 4 bars of a 12 bar blues :D ..except doubled in length to 8 bars.

How did you guys map out the drum rack? I can't seem to custom midi map my pads. :x :x :x

Im using a Lemur with all the correct settings. No OSC is being used.
The Pads that I set up on my Lemur are set for control change.

Yet again, i solved my own problem, well sorta. I should just keep my mouth shut for an extra hour or so. Dammit.

I needed to change the button on my lemur to a "note on" instead of "control change" however I dont want to use the "note on" because then i will be limited.

If you guys have any questions about the lemur, or hints towards a solution with midi mapping the drum rack in another way besides the keyboard, please feel freeeee!

i would suggest not using a lemur for this, the lack of velocity sensitivity really limits you

buy some pads that are cheap and write a remote script, there is one floating around here for mapping the nanopad to the visible section of the drum rack

now i know edIT hand drums on his lemur, but i just dont think i would ever want to, im scared i would break the screen (i had the bubble issue, getting the new screen for free!!!!!!!!!)

How big was your bubble and where was it on your screen? Also how long is the replacement process?

DOes the new screen have a faster response? I mean besides the fix on the bubble issues are there other perks to getting a new screen?

two bubbles on the bottom corners of the screen, about the size of those pink parallelogram erasers

i have a show on tuesday so im going to send it back on wednesday so im not sure of the time line

i dont know about faster response but supposedly the new screen is clearer, brighter, and more accurate

you really should be on the jazzmutant forums though, they are a pretty big help in programming and other lemur tricks

I built a Tap Sequence midi rack that tackles the same problem, maybe you'll find it helpful.

Another solutione is using the Live.step sequencer and rebuild it to a tap-sequencer. There you go! In no time programming a sequence without turning all those knobs and finding the right note!

Hi,

I realise this thread has not been used since 2009 but thought I'd take a shot. It seems to be the most relevant discussion relating to the problem that I am trying to solve.

I am trying to use the pad cycling technique on several trigger pads at the same time. Can anyone suggest how I might go about doing this? When I try to assign more than one pad/midi controller to cycle through a series of notes all pads are reset to their first note.

Suggestions... please!
