Is there a lack of moderation in the General forum?

Discuss music production with Ableton Live.

Is there a lack of moderation on the Ableton Forums?

Yes, I think the moderators should be a bit stricter.

not reading 10 pages...i can guess what they contain anyways.

I imagine lots of people arguing about "just get over it" and such, some wishing for it to be toned down.

I personally don't have an issue reading anything on the forum (or avoiding it), but I vote in favor of a little less edge.

The main reason is that all sorts of kids nowadays are getting into recording their own stuff, getting a cheap m-audio interface for christmas or whatever, get a free copy of live lite and then they're on here looking for answers on how to actually make music. Granted most the content now adays wouldn't be new to them and even if it was it wouldn't be long before their peers talked openly about this stuff, but a lot of times students don't realize when people are just joking and that while many of us would post something off color in here, we would know in what situations you simply don't say those kinds of things.

just my 2 cents.

carry on!

i am an extremist

either absolute no moderation and 'cleaning' whatsoever. (actually my fave)

or a real hard hand and at least 70% of the now regular members should be banned because we all crossed the whatever line is drawn here

i don't like this half arsed moderation and blocking people and others not because of ??? reasons who are even worse on a permanent level (including myself!!!!) and those can be still around.

either one of the extremes please but not that half arsed coloured hippie shit.

I find it interesting that many seem to think 'moderation' concerns freedom of speech or manners or something.

The internet is like toilet wall, it affords anonymity, there will always be immature types who take advantage of that to be cruel or offhand when they never would have the courage to do that in a face to face situation - I wish people would try harder to empathize and realize how easy it is to offend in print but I won't hold my breath.

My problem with the lack of moderation is that the General forum used to be for problems using the software, it now seems to be a 'Community' forum for general discussion about politics etc. and the problems get all mixed up in that, The Tips and Tricks section now seems full of what used to be the General stuff, so all the real Tips and Tricks are buried underneath that.

So I would like to see the forum split into a few more sections just so we can find our way around a bit better - General, Tips and Tricks, Community, M4L etc

A bad forum reflects badly on the software - at the risk of being mildly racist lets have a bit of German efficiency here too.

I would be interested in where you get this number from.

I would also be very interested in an "Ignore Boy Child" option, so I could add the 99.9999% of you who
feel this way to it.

when we had a troll blocker the idiots chilled out quite a bit knowing their crap wasn't forced upon people and posting garbage only got them shut out.

yes, I know I'm one of them. the crap pulls me in.

there are people I would love to block, the forum would be better off if I could. ;)
