Thanks for the videos man! I heard when you said "It's better to do this sparsely than to go overboard with it." That is a very good point, and has been a problem for me lately, so I'm going to try to hold back on it. I also never knew about the warping trick (and it sounds pretty cool) and raising the volume of a reverse reverb tail for dramatic effect. thanks for the tips!

Those are nice clean tutorials. I almost exclusively deal with midi so editing audio in Live isn't something I've done very much. I guess this is good practice.

ALSO: I often see people get CTRL and ALT mixed up in tutorials so make sure you get those right or you will just be confusing beginners :)
It's almost always CTRL.
For example... ALT lets you drag things around without them snapping and CTRL duplicates when dragging.
The shortcuts all use CTRL, not ALT.

It depends on if your using Mac or PC. That's why most people get them flipped.

great videos,

Though when you split clips, you'd go and use "crop sample" function to save RAM, am I right? (or is my MacBook so miserable? =))

Thnks again.
gear: Live + 10 fingers.

Hey, I actually manually drew them all in, but cut that section out of the video so I wouldn't bore all of you ;) I don't know how to copy and past or duplicate automation yet, although I'm sure there is a shortcut for this. Perhaps someone reading this knows? Cheers!

Right you are. I'm on Mac so no love for the PC'er shortcuts. Sorry kids ;)

Thanks for watching and commenting. Yep. I think I mention using the crop clip function at some point in the tutorials. Although, I just learned that I should be using it more recently. I use a dual quad-core Mac Pro tower with 8 gigs of RAM so it (for better or worse) allows me to be really sloppy with processing headroom. It's a good habit to get into, but unfortunately Live doesn't seem to have a keyboard shortcut for it. Lame! That's one thing I still miss about Cubase. Cubase would let you customize all your own keyboard shortcuts and assign them to virtually any function. I used this in conjunction with a Contour Shuttle Pro controller to get really, really fast with editing things. Now I'm slower again with Live, although I'm getting faster and faster.
