Upgrade troubles, must i re-install everything?

I've noticed that when I go from one version of live to another i have to re-install all my instrument racks and 3rd party packs...even when going from say 8.08 to 8.09. Is there any way around this?

Make sure that you're using the right Library... which OS are you using?

Stuff in the library comes through just fine. It's the various presets I have made and or downloaded from various sites, presets for operator, additional drum and instrument racks, etc....

I'm on Mac Os X 10.5 on one computer, 10.4 on my other one.

What have you been doing? Storing modified versions of the standard Ableton patches back in the same place in the library? If you are, I'm not surprised you have to do it again. What happens if you change something and then Ableton changes it and ships you a new version?

General rule: When you change something that someone else did, save the changed version somewhere that you control.
