Hi,
I'm running Live 8.1 (I was hoping the latest version was going to fix this) on a Macbook Pro.
My problem is that Live drops the audio of a clip for a split-second when the clip starts, even for very simple sets with just one track.
The CPU meter is showing between 21% and 33% which seems high (higher than with previous versions).
If I vastly increase the Buffer Size it fixes the issue but renders Live useless for working 'live'. I can get the Buffer Size down to 125 samples before the Test Tone starts glitching.
I've tried running the clip from RAM, but that has no effect.
Anyone else experiencing this? Is it just a case that my MBP is too slow for Ableton 8? (2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo with 2GB RAM)
Cheers.
Very slight pauses/drop outs at the beginning of new clips

Re: Very slight pauses/drop outs at the beginning of new clips
Hi,
Same problem here: one particular clip of one of my sets. Triggering it cause Live to drop out, other clips are fine. The clip has a volume envellope starting at zero but when I removed it I still had the same issue. Still haven't find any reason for that... keep on trying to solve the problem. I'll let you know

Thanks Earmade - I don't think my issue is an envelope problem, as increasing the buffer size fixes it. Hope to hear more if/when you find out more.
Skylark, I hope so too! Live 6/Reason 4 worked absolutely fine with no cpu issues

knobjockeys,
I increased the buffer size a bit (512 --> 650) and now it's fine... But I still don't understand what the problem is on that single clip. On my way I lost few ms of latency but it's ok for me right now until I(we) find out something else maybe... BTW I need to do some tests with my external sound card (fast track ultra) cos' I'm currently using the macbook pro internal sound card.
cheers
