I just upgraded to Live Lite Digidesign Edition version 7.0.18 I am trying to send beat clock out thru my M-Audio USB MidiSport 2X2. In Ableton under MIDI/Sync I can see the MidiSport and I am able to turn on it's SYNC button (strangely it's greyed out, but can still be switched to ON). Ableton is not generating any sort of clock and there is no EXT button in the clip or arrange window to turn on. I can't imagine that sort of feature to be disabled. Any suggestions?
My System:
IBM ThinkPad
Dual 2.0 Processor
2 Gigs RAM
Windows XP Pro
Thanks,
Benny

Re: Generating MIDI Beat Clock?
This is a limitation of the version you are using.
Ableton's 10 year anniversary specials end on Jan 14th, so i'd say use Live as much as you can before then and if you like it do the upgrade before then for massive discount.

Thanks for the reply mode:masters.
I understand how these things work - you get the features you want if you pay the price. Unfortunately my $5 drum machine from the late 1980's has prehistoric features like beat clock in / out that Ableton has disabled to get an extra buck. Oh well, time to upgrade.
