U-he's ACE synth intro discount!
Re: U-he's ACE synth intro discount!
Urs, I see I can route audio from live through ACE's FX...
please please please please...make it route to 'other' on the mixer ...

I just tried routing something through ACE. That's kind of cool, but I will need some time to figure it out. My friend had the Korg Legacy MS20 and he routed stuff through it for effects. I never could figuer that out. What kind of FX are you applying?

Yup, Zebra's worth having for Zebrify alone! Just waiting on that new gui with the official 2.5....Tarekith wrote:URS's effects are ace.
Professional Shark Jumper.

I just have to say this synth is amazing... !
with a sidechain input it would be perfect...
(oh... and the ability to map to the 'stack' knobs...but that's less important)

filters for one thing...loquat wrote:I just tried routing something through ACE. That's kind of cool, but I will need some time to figure it out. My friend had the Korg Legacy MS20 and he routed stuff through it for effects. I never could figuer that out. What kind of FX are you applying?
using the audio signal to modulate the synth would be another very good cause to get external audio in there...
morphing modulated envelopes for amp...panning...pitch ..etc...
only thing you can do now to modulate vst parameters using an audio signal is to draw automation...
that corresponds to the external audio...
and this is not very good for playing live...
(I actually don't know any software synth that sports a peak detector /envelope follower... so this can be the first.. it's cpu hungry enough anyways...so Urs can get away with it..)
you can actually do a lot of evil ...
with the audio once you get it into a modular system like that...

I'm sorry, no side chain for this one - you wouldn't want to lose out on another couple of percent to upsample the input, and I didn't want to maintain yet another fx version for the hosts that are oblivious towards audio routing into VSTi.
The filter in ACE is however quite close to the XMF in Zebra, so with the advent of Zebrify in Zebra 2.5 (hopefully out next week) there'll be a massive mangling tool available out in the wild.
Oh, hehe, I havn't seen this mentioned yet, but this video is a must see for ACE users:

Hmmm, maybe in an update... no promises though... There's a somewhat bigger plan around that with maybe 8 ins and outs so that one can integrate with a hardware modular. But that's all future talk, nothing is set in stone.
Re: U-he's ACE synth intro discount!
fair enough !
I've just demoed ACE to some "colleagues"...
think you'll be getting some more paypal action happening today...
I'm really impressed by ACE... demoed Uhbik and it's also amazing...
(Zebra I don't like so much... please don't ask me to explain why)
the ability to mix and morph modulations is a quality I love in a synth..
and although a bit corny...(don't like old-school gear type GUIs)
'cables' help you visualize the path without needing to squint or touch the mouse...
and it sounds just fantastic...
and if we're future talkin'...
I would be stoked if an fx version of ACE would come out as well..
(Uhbik+ACE Modulation style)...
ok I've gone too far maybe
