Maschine looks awesome and'll probably use this if I still was on logic pro.
But I really think that drum rack is amazing and I don't want to trade it agains anything.
I got an apc and a midi keyboard and with that it's really easy to write new stuff, and for the drums part I use my apc with nativekontrol. At the beginning I thought having non-sensitive pads was bad but then I realized that in electronic musis it's quite cnveniant.
So I still think maschine looks intereting but I wonder if it would not add more complexity instead of helping me to do better stuff faster.

guess you're not using maschine and live exclusively then eh? well you know, lets imagine your apc and midi keyboard was a maschine and you were using it with live, then what would you do?

Maschine actually integrates better with Live than Logic. Due to MIDI out implementation in AU plugs, MIDI out from Maschine doesn't work as well in Logic. Live and Maschine almost seem made for each other. Both have session views and it's easy to drag clips from Maschine to Live. For making beats and everything else, Maschine is way more efficient than drum racks. But drum racks and Live adds timestretching and better auto slicing to the workflow so it's great to use both. One of the best thing about Maschine is how intuitive it is. It's powerful enough that you can get deep with it if you want, but for most stuff, it's just like using a hardware drum machine. Everything is a button push and a knob tweak away.

I bought my Maschine about a month ago and it rocks. I've been using it in Standalone mode primarily and using drag n drop to create audio clips in Live. However, i've found this to be a bit clunky and constricting. I'm going to try routing each group into Live audio channels and see how that works out. I haven't really tried using it as a VST yet, but that might open a few doors...

What i'm really waiting for is the next update. Host automation, midi drag n drop & macro controls are going to be badass!

I'd recommend the Maschine to anyone though...seriously fun piece of kit!! :-)

on the mp you can have 99 programs which on maschine i guess would be groups, any rumors of this being increased seeing that maschine offers only eight at this time?

Well I'll he quite happy as I'm quitte happy wiu my set up at the moment.
But then again, I think for basic mixer managment, and launching clips, the apc seems more suited than the maschine. I'm interested in the maschine to do something else or better than what I do right now.

yea when I talk about maschne and logic, that would be to use it as an mpc-like.
But for the compArison with drum rack, I like in drum rack how every pads/notes can be in a simpler or sampler
instrument and that I can create its own chain with everyhing I want. So my snares can have a chain totaly diferent from my kicks, ect. And all this power comes
in a very simple interface. Even if you can
do
that withaschine (can you?), I feel that would
just make the process more complicated.
Anyway, I need to get my hands on a friend's unit!! ;-)

so adding samples to maschines library does not make a copy of those samples correct, maschine only refferences them? anybody having library issues?

ok so answering my own question yeah it only reffs the samples and doesn't copy them, that along with it's tagging system is fucking great, I guess this is what beatsme and doc were talking about.

i will say that the samples that come with maschine suck donky balls, I know that will upset some of you but c'mon you know they sound like cream corn.
go to the vinyl kit group and load the funk kit and tell me how hard it could possibly be to actually sample a funk record, that's like brittney spears funk
