Yikes. Some of you need to redefine 'underground', lol.

When I think of Underground I certainly don't think of Jarre. He was fucking huge. Every fucking ponce around had Oxygène and Equinoxe back then. 8O

Dead Can Dance, Cocteau, Cabaret..all great stuff but pretty far from underground.

Throbbing, Butthole Surfers, Guadalcanal Diary, Dead Kennedys. Oh hell. Even those guys got pretty popular in no time at all. :P
I came for the
But stayed for the :x

also not underground at all, but two VERY different bands from the 80s i still dig are The Style Council (in particular the home and abroad live album)
and Suicidal Tendencies (in particular lights camera revolution) and those two being so utter different in style and mood also sums up my general wide open musical taste... (that said there is also a ton that makes me puke and i do not tolerate such as country and MTV style modern R&B and Hip Hop)

Suicidal Tendencies - Ooooo. Definitely underground for awhile there. Nice one.

Plasmatics. Always fun.

Sisters of Mercy. At least up until the Floodland album; when Andrew Eldritch finally revealed himself to be little more than a gothic Motley Crue wannabe. :P
