ableton not recognizing motu mk3 audio interface
Our music project is off tour for a few weeks and we are in the colorado mountains trying to record some fresh tracks. I recently bought a Motu Traveler mk3 for an audio interface and I set it up with my macbook pro. Things were running smooth until today when I fired it all up and in ableton the Motu was not listed as an input or output device. any suggestions?? I've re-installed the motu software (twice), checked the cable connection and nothing. Its also not listed as output device in mac setting. It was working fine yesterday. Thanks for any advise...greatly appreciated!

Re: ableton not recognizing motu mk3 audio interface
I mean the Audio MIDI Setup in OS X. Should be in your utilities.
I find sometimes that if I launch that, and then turn the MOTU on and off, it will appear in Audio MIDI Setup (and then also in any software, like Ableton)

It sounds like its not an Ableton issue then but possibly your MOTU driver installation. The MOTU has to be off when you update them.
This tech note on the MOTU site might help:
http://www.motu.com/techsupport/technot ... midi-setup
"If your MOTU audio interface has MIDI ports and is not appearing as a MIDI device in OS X's Audio MIDI Setup utility, there is a good chance that your interface was turned on during driver installation. As specified in the driver installation instructions, the interface must be turned off during installation. It is also a good idea to make sure you have the latest drivers, available on our downloads page."
It then has instructions on how to fix it.
