Desert Island Plugin(s)
Desert Island Plugin(s)
I know that these threads come up a lot, but after spending the best part of the last two years recording and mixing an album I'm more in favour then I ever have been of stripping down my plugin folder and just getting to know the ones I have inside out.
So, if you could only take one...what would it be?
I'd take Stillwell's Rocket compresser. Based solely on how much I've used it over anything else.

Re: Desert Island Plugin
Reaktor 5
Bit of a cheat really cos it's more than a single plugin, but that would be my choice

Re: Desert Island Plugin
Ya hard to beat Reaktor (because it's so many devices).
But, my desert island effect is definitely Sugar Bytes Artillery II. Low cpu, sounds great, good performance stuff. Has pretty much everything.
As for a synth, I'm thinking Omnisphere maybe.

OK - I'll throw in the caveat of it not being an instrument plugin - or, yeah, Reaktor would probably mop up

No way man, you can do that stuff with clip envelopes, except it's better because you're not stuck using the same pattern (or a limited set). Every clip can be different! Fun little plug but desert island?LoopStationZebra wrote:Camel Space. Hands down.

Re: Desert Island Plugin
For synths, Absynth 4. I learned everything I know about synthesis from Absynth, so I know the program inside and out. Plus, since I'll be stuck on an desert island, I'll have all the time in the world to learn how to use the "create your own waveforms" section better.
As for effects, well, none of my plugins really stand out. Perhaps Absynth again, since it can be used as an effect...

Re: Desert Island Plugin
Are we talking about non Live plug-ins? Because I wouldn't want to be without Simpler or Impulse - I get a lot of use out of those.
As fort third-party plug-ins, Synplant is the one for me.

Re: Desert Island Plugin
Synthwise, I'm torn between Sylenth1 and Albino3, and Breverb is pretty much the only non-Ableton fx plug I get any substantial use out of.

.... if that's considered cheating (because of the endless 3rd party instruments), then Sylenth1
