Desert Island Plugin(s)
Re: Desert Island Plugin
i would also go with guitar rig.
i guess it has everything i would really need, even though it sounds more like a roland multi effects floor unit than having individual amps.
since im not on a deserted island i dont use it.

Re: Desert Island Plugin
effect/mix plug: would be a hard choice... probably the superfreq 10 EQ, but if it would be really the only plug at all to use then the free Luxonix lfx-1310 a cool and very, very decent sounding allrounder that is even Free.
instruments: tassman4 for sure.

Re: Desert Island Plugin
For effects my choice would be Fabfilter Pro Q eq followed by Soundtoys Echoboy.
For a synth it would be Largo followed by Omnisphere.

Re: Desert Island Plugin
Wow - not the sort of choices I would've expected. Interesting.
OK, let's make this really hard - you have no access to any of Live's plugins ( or whatever DAW you use), you have to pick plugins you already have and regularly use, and you can't choose an instrument, a sampler or a channel-strip plugin, but you can have 3 instead of one.
An EQ, a compresser and a reverb.
Now what would you pick?
I'd take ApEQ, Stillwell's Rocket and I'd probably opt for Echoboy over a reverb.

Re: Desert Island Plugin
Okay. That narrows it down:
Compression: Fabfilter Pro-C
EQ: Fabfilter Pro-Q
Reverb: Yellow Tools Origami

Re: Desert Island Plugin
FabFilter's new to me...heard the buzz, but never tried em. The EQ looks promising.
Re: Desert Island Plugin(s)
compression: flux solera
EQ: sonalksis SV-517
reverb: galbanum aether

And maybe a justification for your choice?evernaut wrote:

In my case, Ap EQ because it's affordable, very precise & so damn simple to use, but you can also get under the hood. The Rocket because of its equally silky-smooth or utterly devastating punch, its super-fast attack and its open invitation to experiment, and the Echoboy because I generally dislike using reverbs and I can get everything I need using delays..and those saturation settings
