I'm hoping for a MIDI controller with 8 rotary knobs and 16 LED buttons.
The nocturn would be perfect if it were actually a MIDI controller.
It pains me to say this, but "Im looking at you, Behringer".

Could we be looking at a new APC 80 or even an Ableton 9?

+1000

we gotta stop this crazyness and actually learn our present tools.

I could NOT imagine a single controller/synth/soft that would not be redundant in either part of it with somethig already existing.

you want a specific 13-buttons/5-faders/sysex/metal-with-wood-sides/2-midi-thrus/internal-LFOs ?

make it.

BTW, I'd really like to go to the NAMM or other same type shows, I'd be like a child in a candy shop. But you know, it is BAD.

desire, envy... it hurts, and digs the need even deeper. the more you want, the more you get the more you want... vicious circle of the human pain...

this is... gear porn.

ok I'm

Probably time for Kore 3 soon? I bet NI are itching to update the controller to bring it in line with Maschine and the new Traktor controller.

Reaktor 6? I heard a rumor that it's scheduled for the first part of 2010...

And I reckon Akai will bring out something at a lower price point than the APC... to compete with Launchpad.

I won't be buying any of it though - 2010 is going to be a year of gear abstinence...

he he, tell me more about it, it always puts a smile onto my face, i just was very recently at a friends place who bought a bunch of controllers not long ago at all and already replaced them with new ones, that do the freakin' same... they just look different (a bit fancier) and are from another brand... and the old ones eating dust laying in the corner, hardly ever used.

i see that all the time happening... sorry to say, but it's stoopid in my eyes, it brings me right back to my thread about 'listening' and therefor monitoring, instead saving and spending all that wasted money into something that actually makes real sense, oh well...

this friend... it's me! (I bought a nocturn one day, and I only used it 1 time in a gig, so crappy useless stuff, at least in my already existing setup :? ).

sometimes it's hard to resist anyway, well the launchpad quite managed to make me buy it with its cheap price, but I resisted and I'm glad I did. (no dust on it or on my padkontrol, that is yes perhap's less fancy, but that with farmpad is able to do quite the same, with, yes, less buttons...)

the time you'll spend on the learning curve and adjustments to your setup to integrate the new fancy controller, there's a new one, (even fancier & better!!!), on the market.

and you lost your time making NO music meanwhile...

perhap's is that not the case for everyone, but we gotta get away from gear porn if we really want to use our time to compose.

Or, the hobby is not making music, but setting up gear! (remembers a friend that says "hey, I don't wanna get a fuckin' mac because what I like, is not using a software, it's messing up for setting up a fucking weird and complex computer and hard&software environnement! I'm a geek, not a software user"

can't wait for new gearporn :)

yeah, an apc with motorized faders would be interesting (and knobs for each channel).

but then again, yes. the stuff i have is more than enough :)

but buying tons of gear is fun. if one has the money for it.

Personally I'm hoping for a Kaoss 4 Pad myself, or an update Korg groovebox. But that's what I always wish for, likely a pipe dream.
my thoughts exactly!
