Live 4.1 stopped audio output during a show...

The M-audio is a midi box for my moog, guitar pre amp, and keyboard.

The MOTU is the original 828 firewire, and the OS is 10.3.7 on the dual Gig, and 10.3.6 on the powerbook. I have a show on Saturday, so I'm reluctant to update the powerbook to 10.3.8 until afterwards, even though 10.3.6 is an acknowledged dog. Mixed reviews of 10.3.8 abound.

i know that osx is set up to do some routine disc maintenance stuff on a daily/weekly/monthly basis...i think these things are set to run at around 3 am...is that when the problem occured ?

i've wondered about this myself...i guess they assume that most people are in bed with their computer on at around that time, not playing a gig somewhere.

btw...i use a g4 powerbook with 10.3.8 and the 410...it's fine...have old drivers though (1.2.4)

That is very interesting.
hmm, i did not think of that.

You can download "Bootconfig" and uncheck the "Cron" to stop this.
And if you manually want to erase those logs, download "MacJanitor"
and erase it with a press of a buttion.
We need to do this both to test this.

Can the firewire-audio users test his methods plz?

Just as a side note, the only time I get dropouts like what you guys are talking about is when my CPU is constantly at 70% or above, and the occasional sound that kicks the CPU over 90% will max it, and live either makes the audio fuzzy, or drops it out completely.

yes,, i had a gig in sweden last week wich i started at 2 am, usually I play later but this time was different,,and i have a glitch like I never had before around an hour later,,usually i do not have any probs with my set up, so i was really freaked because of this,, this could be the reason..mmmmm...

my osx is 10.3.6 with no prob..still would like to update but i hear more bad things that good ones,,
