Recording in Ableton LIVE 7 through M-Audio Fast Track Pro

Post by projectfusion » Sat Dec 19, 2009 11:41 pm

Hi, I am trying to record a signal through Fast Track Pro in Ableton LIVE 7. I have Line 1/2 set as output and Line 3/4 set as input. I have connected the RCA cable on line 3/4 but i am not getting any signal. The track is amred in LIVE and i am using Fast Track Pro in ASIO mode. Am i missing anything here?

Maybe you need to turn up the gain on the input on the sound-card. The fast-track pro has very low gain. Be sure the track has ext in as input-signal. And in the audio-tab in preferences make sure the Fast track pro is listed as input.

Good luck! I'm no expert - hopefully someone else will answer if you don't get it fixed.

@ Vido - Thanks for the reply. By gain, do you mean the hard knobs on the unit itself on the front? They are all turned up to the max. The track has 3/4 as EXT IN and in audio preferences within LIVE, all ports are activated i.e. 1/2 & 3/4.

Yes but I'm also wondering if you may have forgotten to turn on the 48V hp power in the back of the unit. I you haven't you will probably not get any signal.

Good luck!
