My love for Live started with version 2.1 long time ago and it's been growing until now with 7 and maybe someday with 8.

i love when your doing punch in and outs that ableton actually records everything from the minute you hit record.. so if you like the pre punch in warm up noodles you can keep it :)

This week for the first time EVER i am starting to enjoy using it. I made this demo track. I am working on version 2 of the track now and for what ever reason I am seeing and hearing things differently. Kinda like a little switch somewhere got flicked. I have just started my summer holidays so I am gonna roll with this as much as I can. Sweet as bro!

Love Live, I think people forget this as I tend to also love other programs too.

I'm on 7 and will upgrade to 8 when the Pluggo / Live 8 issue is resolved.
Digital Performer 7 gets upgraded first, because it's stable out the box.
To clarify this I never upgraded to DP6 because it wasn't stable for everyone, Live 7 mostly was, so
Ableton got my money.
I really can't wait to upgrade to 8, I like DP, but it's more for "serious" music, and Live is so much more fun for your standard
verse chorus verse break chorus chorus end type writing! 8) It really is pretty much that other DAWs are tools, and Live is and instrument.

Man if I ever have to go back to Digital Performer for writing music I'll rip my hair out.
I used to be a HUGE DP whore (wait that doesn't sound quite right....) but when I started to use Live
I couldn't go back to writing in DP. As far as tracking a band, mixing and mastering goes, I think
DP is unmatched. I was on DP5 when I got Live 7. I never upgraded to DP 6 or 7 because there was just no need. I rebuilt all of my songs in Live from DP and the outcome was just mind blowing. My main beef with DP is that they are too busy making new plugs instead of updating them. I've been a DP user since ver 3 and the main effects are EXACTLY the same.
Same GUI and all.

I love my APC40, LP and M4L. It's like the holy trinity of creative writing for me.
I use the Akai for selecting scenes to record(of course a million other things).
I use the LP (user 1) for writing drum parts and
M4L / user 2 for step recording synth parts. Then I record the midi into a midi track from the
step recorder to tweak the fudge out of it.

Damn awesome system.

Both DP and Live are stable as fuck for me. I just think that for writing music I can worry more about
what to write instead of howin Live.

My main regret about Live is that I do not have enough time to make use of it. It is amazing, and the best and most powerful concepts it presents are the simplest and most straightforward to grasp.

[edit] Ever since I've started using Live, I've wished that I had more time to spend using Live.

Total love for Live.

When I started with computer based production in 2001 I was using Reason. I quickly ran into major problems accomplishing what I wanted with live performance. I knew there had to be a better way, and then in 2002 Adam Ohana showed me Live and I immediately recognized it as the answer to my longing. I tried out Live v2 and bought v3. Haven't missed an update since!

Live makes possible what I dream of.
