8.1 bug? :key assign to groupslot not working

in 8.1 I cannot assign a key to the slot of a grouptrack, in 8.09 this is possible.
can anyone confirm this?

more specifically, keys can be assigned to the slots of the individual tracks in the group but not to the slot of the group.

Having the same exact problem. Using Akai MPD24, and cannot assign group slot to the drum pads.
