deep house track - all analog and operator... no samples

Post by louis fleet » Wed Dec 23, 2009 2:32 pm

hi everybody

i ve got a new track called 'reflex' on my souncloud account

i had intended to make something a lot more techy but ended up with a slightly epic bit of deep house as you can hear......

please feel free to make some comments.

All sounds generated using ableton's operator and analog synth's. and as usual no samples !

This is the first track that i ve made since i bought myself a pair of rokit krk 8's, so i can actually hear what im doing for the first time ever as opposed to mixing entirely on headphones !

anyway let me know what you think

cheers

Hey Louis. A pair of KRKs is a big improvement over headphones. I suggest that you roll off the low frequencies to all but the bass and kick at about 80-150 hz. This will give more room for the bass's engergy which is getting lost in the mix. After, you can use more efficient mastering chains to bring the overall mix level up without clipping. Stereo movement is pretty good panning from side to side. Overall, the beginnings of a nice track. Thanks for the share.
