But, as someone who may have slightly overwhelmed herself by moving up the midi controller ladder too fast, I'd like to ask a few things:what sort of devices / vst's do you find useful for live mashup? I mix jungle/breakcore/generally lairy music, and my own producitons are on a similar tip. I'm looking to do a combo of my own tunes played as live as I can play them as well as mixing in other peoples tunes, acapellas/samples etc.
I guess I'm just overwhelmed by the large amount of choice I have in the way I can use my APC - when I unpacked it and set it up, I stared blankly at the screen in realisation that I could, in effect, do whatever I liked. As I never had a midi controller, when i've been making live sets in ableton i've not really geared up for having one, so was very limited in what i did. now i can do almost anything, and ive gone blank.
I'd like to know what vsts/effects people use for live jungle/mashup, or for anything really. I'm not looking fi something overly complicated, I've looked at some videos on youtube that are mazing but quite beyond what I'm capable of at the moment plus they all seem to be Mac users
so post your setup/tips/tricks, link me up to a thread like this already and call me a n00b (i did search though, honest) or link me up to videos/tutorials, or inspiration. i'm not really looking for APC specific stuff, more something to inspire me and show me what is possible now I have a midi controller.
oh and I'm a PC user (boo!) with ableton 7, although ive got 8 in the post
