Well if this is for use in Live, then you just want a midi controller to start and stop the audio like the space bar does? In that case, open midi in Live and click the play button, then pick your midi button/key/what have you. Then repeat this for the stop button on another button/key and you're good to go!

The good news is, that is entirely possible!

The bad news is, I have no clue how to do that, but most people on here do know so I'm sure someone will come by soon!

Scotty explains it here ^

If it doesn't answer your question, i'm not quite sure what "I JUSTE WANT TO USE 1 MIDI BUTTON" really means... btw did something happen to ur caps?

I believe that he intends to have one individual midi control button start AND stop tracks as opposed to using one button that only plays, and one button that only stops.

Your best bet would be to use some kind of midi to key conversion program.. I don't specialize in that.

If you happen to have a Novation product that supports Automap, that might be an option. Automap costs some money though, and there ARE free options. Youtube probably has some pointers. Infact, I'll look right now. haha

Edit: ehhhh n/m the youtube, maybe a google search??

Just use your keyboard as the MIDI controller for start/stop.

What are you like 10 feet away from the space bar or just so short on buttons that using one for stop and one for play is too much?

I only have 2 hands, sorry....
But my 2 feet are free when I play, and I can't press the space bar with it, i'm not a great gymnast

As previously mentioned, you'll need a MIDI to keystroke converter.

You could try the trial version of bomes : http://www.bome.com/products/miditranslator

Yes I was thinking about it but i already use midipipe and i'll get conflict with them. (mac)

OTHERWISE there's is another way : A VST/AU MIDI PLUGIN who can convert a midi message into a alternate midi message(between 2 value or 2 type).

Does anyone know something about that? (i guess there's something like that on cubase/nuendo but it's integrated into the software, not a vst)

you could consider another keyboard. as in, get another keyboard (free to $1) and mod it so that you have a foot pedal activating it's space bar

not sure how live acts if you have two keyboards attached??
