What happens to Live8 if one decides to install Max4Live?

just wondering. what happens to my Live8 if i decide to install Max4Live? can they run at separate units or does Max overwrite the original Live8?

It´s a an add on/extension/Live pack - similar to e.g. Operator etc. - if it´s authorized, it´ll appear in the browser, if not, well then not.

i managed to install the Max/Jitter after launching the Launchpad Sequencer file. however i have a bunch of broken presets on Pluggo and the Max Instruments. is this natural or is it because i'm using the demo Max/Jitter?
