Constant recurring spinning "beach ball" Live 8.1 Mac OS X

Post by Trigon Midnight » Fri Dec 25, 2009 10:39 am

Anyone else experiencing a constant recurring spinning "beach ball" in Live 8.1 on OS X? I can barely work with the program since it always comes back to the beachball and acts terribly sluggish. Live 8.09 works great but I the new version is virtually unusable for me.

Are there any preferences or anything I can delete/edit in 8.1 in order for it to be snappy and usable?

Thanks!

Hello,

The best thing would be to send me your Log.txt file from
/user/library/preferences/ableton/live x.x/
and i´ll analyze the problem then.

Best,
Christian

Yes, I'm getting the same thing. I tried deleting the preferences, starting a new set. Same thing every time. Super annoying. I'll send the log.txt to Christian again, but thus far no fixes. I think it is drum racks that are the problem, because I don't have this problem on sets with no drum racks. The latest beta version didn't solve the problem either. Really cramps my work when I have to wait 30 secs to open the midi map.

Support told me this:

Please try this:
- close Live
- delete the content of these two folders:
/Users/[Username]/Library/Caches/Ableton/Cache/Web/
/Users/[Username]/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live 8.1/Database/
- delete your "Template.als" and "Preferences.cfg" files (same folder as the Log.txt)-
- restart Live

I hope this helps!

best,
Christian Kleine

@JesseMiller

I believe you are right, everything works but as soon as I started adding drumracks it did the superlag again! Back to 8.09!
