[Sharing] Simple OSC network controller

Post by pukunui » Tue Dec 22, 2009 2:42 am

Hi Guys,

Here's the result of some weekend warrior action. It allows for observing and firing clips and scenes over the network. Files at 20objects.com

Enjoy

hi pukunui,

thanks a lot for this very good starting point !

first I have to say: I am not an API specialist at all.

my question: how can I change the "fire" commands into "select" commands ?

because I don't use the clips for playing. I use groove~ player.

I control the jit.cellblock with a Lemur to select the clip names to load samples into my buffers.
this works but I get the MAX message: "js: no function select"

thanks and best wishes,
bd

Thanks guys.

Mr BDHM,

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're talking about. Are you talking about something like

call focus_view Detail/Clip

on live_app view?

Maybe if you could show me small example of the way you are playing clips I will be able to figure out how you could do your mod.

Very nice!

How about using Live´s GUI in the patch and allow multiple connections, so that many people could work on the same Live-set over network, using a Max-patch that looks like Live?

What about midi-devices connected to te remote computer being allowed to controll/play live?

Maybe also audio-override via network? maybe integrating something like http://code.google.com/p/wormhole2/ ?

This would be extremely usefull in bands where a lot of processor power is required, it would also make patching and syncing between musicians a lot easier.

Imagine having one powerfull computer with one sound card, which is controlled by all the band members.

Or assigning different parts of the Live set to different instances of the patch?

Please, keep up the good work!

Sincerely - Jonas Barsten Johnsen

Cheers for that.

Yeah, I like the idea of having multiple people play the same live set. That's exactly what I was thinking too.I'll do that next. Maybe you could have it so that the different players were fenced off from each other, so you wouldn't have people bogart all your clips.
