Ableton 7.0.18 + Launchpad problem doesnt work

I did everything as described which means:1
1. Install USB Drivers (I picked there - "any novation USB" or something like that, there wasnt dedicated Launchpad)
2. Plug USB in - device is detected as Launchpad
3. Run Ableton 7.0.18
4. Preferences, Control Surface Input / Output (all three) set to Launchpad, Midi Ports Input / Output (track and remote) set to Launchpad too. Just everything like in video tutorial, or brochure.

But then nothing happens, the device doesnt react to anything. Nothing lights up. All i see is that Launchpad is sending Midi CC and that's pretty much all...


Previously i had Automap Pro installed (I used Remote Zero SL also), which automatically loads when Ableton is running. It was detecting device as launchpad, I could hit ie. "view button" and the automap was responding (+ the button was lighten up) but there was no mappings etc. That's why I uninstalled it. I thought that maybe there's some kind of conflicts (as far as I understand - Launchpad should work with Ableton without Automap too ?) but no - with Automap uninstalled it doesnt work, just like I described above.


Any ideas ? I'm confused - wasnt expecting this

I have another question. If I install (at some different location) included Ableton launchpad edition , will it overwrite setting's / library etc. from Live 7.0.18 ??? Can I have both Abletons installed ?

please find the latest Launchpad drivers here for Mac & PC:

Please reinstall the drivers once more.
Does the problem still persist?

Unfortunately it didn't help.

I decided to install Ableton Launchpad Edition and it works perfectly. I even managed to load automap and control ie. V-Station plugin with Remote Zero SL controller and the other things (session view, mixer, drum rack) control with Launchpad. So it looks like Launchpad Controller and the drivers are OK.

But in Live Suite 7.0.18 - it's another story. It just doesnt work. I'm starting to think that it's because I installed this 7.0.18 update over previously used 7.0.15 version. My Ableton folder looks like this:
E:\Music\Ableton\program and there I have:
- Live 7.0.15.exe
- Live 7.0.18.exe

Of course I'm running this 7.0.18 version, in "about live" its written 7.0.18 version. Does Launchpad really work with Live 7 ? With my Live 7 I see no "red border", launchpad buttons won't light up (unless I'll run Automap). I can even control third-party VST plugins such as V-Station via Automap but no Live. It's like Live7 doesnt recognize itself my Launchpad controller at all.

Looks like I'll have to update Live 7 Suite to Live 8 Suite. I was preparing for this but I cant afford it right now At the end, I have 3 licenses: Live7 suite, Live 8 LE EMu-Edition, Live 8 Launchpad Edition hehe

i'd say upgrade it definitely put a smile on my face. and it works great with the Launchpad and SL Zero side-by-side. i've got the same setup too mate.

maybe it'll help somebody:
I installed Live 7.0.18 again but this time i didnt overwrite the existing / previous version. I picked different directory and now it finally works

I couldnt use the launchpad with live 7 - in live 8 it works fine though...
