OMG! Autotune in punk rock now... now I've heard it all. For such a semi-professional looking Myspace webpage.... you guys suck! Word of advice.... destroy the video because it sucks BIG TIME! Other than your Myspace webpage design, everything else is of poor quality. Even for a small town in Canada. Good luck with THAT album.

Its not punk rock. When you know your stuff, then well talk.

I wouldn't call it punk, and the sound is professional. But I cannot stand overcooked autotune any more, I hear and and have to hit the stop button immediately =/ Probably oversensitive, but for me it's a sound I never want to hear again. Thats just personal taste tho, nothin more. You have 'the sound' down, best of luck!

Hey, i appreciate you at least listening and giving creative criticism. That sound seems to be working for us and alot of people are responding positively.... except on here. But it is a bunch of dj's and and like producers/musicians on here soo my post was SUPER risky. But constructive criticism like your i appreciate.

Thank-you.

I got my 15 yr old son to have a listen. He very much liked it. Said it reminded him of Attack Attack. He really likes the autotune and wants to use it in his screamo/metal/punk band. He actually associated the word 'punk' with your music /shrugs\... not the punk I am used to though :D

I think Terence has a point about the video on the myspace page though...

Hey thanks for the share and keep em coming

thanks so much. really appreciate it.
That just goes to show our demographic and what were going for. i would never expect anyone here on this forum to appreciate anything i do with live. my post was merely a chance to show you guys whats out there and how people in MY "scene" are using Live in our own creative ways.

I think you would be surprised at how many people would appreciate what you do with Live regardless of the genre. Fair enough that your tune provoked some emotion... but that is the point isn't it? You already know that you are only going to please a fairly small piece of the pie around here but hey, that should not stop you from posting and then being open to critique regardless of what and where that comes from. I think you also have to remember that if on the day you happen to get a lot of negative criticism, just make sure you can stand far enough away from it to not take it personally but to regard it professionally. After all you are attempting to roll in the music biz in a significant way right?

Anyway, congrats on the album and all the best for your up coming release.

BTW, would you use Live again for the next album or would you consider something else?

Cheers. G.

Thank-you for your input. Ive had to put up with alot of negative input from people for the whole 4 years ive been playing music and been in the scene, and what you mentionedis something i did learn Much appreciated!

I would definetly consider using Live again. We have already started working on new material with Live. Live has become an essential tool for us and has opened up soo many creatove possibilities and doors for us! I do plan on adding pro tools to my personal setup and doing the same think on the next album that we did with this one (track and create instruments with Live, mix and master in pro tools.)

Hey man, the tunes arent bad! Its definitely not my thing, even though im very into alternative styles of music, but it sounds like you guys put some love into it, and had fun making it. Thats what really matters. But I am going to agree with some of the others in not diggin the excessive autotune. My thoughts on autotune? (i know, you didnt ask for it). My thoughts are that the whole over-use of autotune needed to die out with Cher's "Do You Believe In Love". It didn't bother me too much when all the rap/r&b artists STARTED using it either, as i thought that it would die out soon. But now its everywhere, and its terrible. Aside from truely professional usage of Autotune, such as engineers using it to correct a missed note or two on a performance, (not as the timbre of the WHOLE TRACK), I feel like that effect has gone wayyyy overboard. For example - go listen to the 'hottest 100 songs of 2009'. Unless it was a country song, or like..... i dunno, taylor swift hahah, there is entireley excessive overuse of autotune.... its pretty disgusting. The point of trying to make it to the top is to do something DIFFERENT right? (I know, MTV begs to differ, and if you look at that 'top 100', youll know what i mean...not just autotune, but every other song TITEL has spelling/grammatical errors....not a very good way to represent oneself!) Adding autotune to your songs may be 'different' in the world of rock, but theres a reason why its not widely used in rock music. Just a suggestion, and you may find that you have a more varied age group and scene that is interested in your music, not that 15 year old hipster girls cant make up a big portion of the demographic you're going after :D haha. Just playin. I just don't feel as though that effect sits well with rock music, especially heavier style guitars such as the ones in your band. Haha, sorry mate, don't want to rip on it too much - but if you took that autotune effect off, and just let the singers voice come through (which sounds, as far as i can tell, nice and strong), i think you guys would have an even larger fan base!

Im very on the fence with what you have to say.. Totally respect it though!
We wanted to try out autotune with this album, and in a sense it works for us. Yes alot of people are doing it, but not alot in our genre. Its SUPER risky but hey, we love it and its all for fun. :P Alot of kids seem to dig it, and some dont. I cant see us using it a whole lot on the next project we work on, but in this case it was useful. If you heard the vocal tracks before autotuning it.. IMHO the guys needed it there to cover up there vocal tracks. They werent the GREATEST tracks ive herd.. but thats our little secret :P

This is what would happen if Britney Spears tried her hand at a bit of rock music! It doesn't work, but hey if certain people enjoy it then fair play to you guys and best of luck with your album.... I definatley won't be buying a copy!
