Any G3 Pismo PB users here?

Post by moogman » Mon Mar 14, 2005 9:21 pm

I'm fairly new to computer recording (not discounting the Mac Classic running Performer I had in the last century), and was hoping to connect with any Ableton Live enthusiasts using a similar rig to mine: G3 Pismo PB running OS X (10.3.8) with 512k RAM, 60g HD, and 500mhz board with a not-yet-installed M-Audio 410 firewire bundled with Live Lite. Any concerns or problems I should be aware of with this setup? Thanks in advance!

I have a 667 Ti 60 GB HD, 1 GB RAM, and Live is barely usable (at least for synths). I sincerely recommend very limited synth usage, and then bouncing those you do use down to audio as soon as you can. You can still have a marvelous time and make some great music, and if you are playing live you may not want to use synths even when you have a moderately powerful system (since some VST/AU can spike at an inopportune time). If you have a 60 GB HD, I imagine it may be faster than the stock 4200 or whatever the Pismo shipped with?

What are the minimum Mac specs now anyway?
