Does anybody know what exactly ableton sends, when e.g. for bank you select 84 and sub-bank you select 2 ??
Also, how on earth do you send a zero? according to the ableton manual if you select 'none' it sends nothing and not zero, but numbers start with 1
I am fighting to get my Roland JV-1010 to select the sounds I want to when I send the bank,sub-bank and program changes from ableton. Works fine for program changes within a bank, but the bank changes just don't do what I would expect. When using the JV-1010 with my Axiom I noted that I need to enter the bank number with two digits, i.e. to send MSB=84 (Bank) and LSB=2 (Sub-Bank) I need to put in 02 as value for the LSB.
Can that be done in Ableton (8.1) ?????

Re: MIDI Bank & Sub-Bank changes - what does ableton send???
Ableton will send a bank/program change message to the MIDI Out port of the track. Where you are confused is in regards to the the numerical values Live is using to call up the banks and programs; Live numbers them [1...128], while your device numbers them [0...127]. So to select program 09 on your Roland, you just choose program 10 in Live. Just add 1 to all the parameters in Live. That is all.Does anybody know what exactly ableton sends, when e.g. for bank you select 84 and sub-bank you select 2 ??
