I am sure you are aware of it, but MAKE COPIES OF YOUR SETS BEFORE RESAVING THEM, SINCE THEY WILL BE NO MORE COMPATIBLE WITH FORMER VERSIONS
MacBook Pro 13" Retina i7 2.8 GHz OS 10.13, L10.0.1, M4L.
MacStudio M1Max 32Go OS 12.3.1

8.1.1 is not stable for me. Crash on dragging and dropping wav file from Finder to audio track. Crash on inserting plugin (TAL Bitcrusher).

I have weird clicks on the start of audio clips. The clips (cross-)fade in. The clicks are even there when the track is muted. I changed my latency, then it was gone, but shortly after that the issue came up again.
Live 8.1.1 , Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Presonus Firebox

edit: think I fixed it. I had some crossfades reversed or something.... not sure though, some clips were on their own.

it seems (!) all is OK here.

I have to continue the tests...
but using it with max for live, a lot of midiclip, no audio-clip here indeed, etc ... no problem!

i7 + w7 may love Ableton Live :)

I learned a lesson yesterday: never try upgrades 2 days before a gig.

I had terrible sync problems (Master PC i7 Slave Macbook core2duo), both using standard MIDI cable accross external audio interfaces ( using respectively Edirol FA101 and FA66) and with sync over ethernet ( using this nice tool ). No problems with 8.1. But I made a mistake and accidentally saved the set after a small change.

PANIC.

I had no way to reopen it in Live 8.1 ( I can't import single clips from the browser too... ). So I exported midi clips and reimported it in an older incomplete version of the set.

Kernel Panic.

Irreversible operations MUST be difficult to do in a software. Please, splash screen "Are you really sure you want to do that?" the next time. I'm Cmd/Ctrl+S addicted ( crashes made me paranoic ) and I think I'm not the only one.

And Sync is important. Please, work on it.

I'm running OsX 10.5, live set with just a Reaktor 5 enseble, Launchpad + Nocturn connected.
Have a good work!
Funky vibes from Berlin.
Check my music.

another thing... I've found that although it asks you if you want to save files...
you still have to hit "collect all and save" at the end of each addition...

I have a strange issue.
My Motu Ultralite midi interface is receiving constant midi messages from the "Keys" output in v. 8.1.1, really like rapid fire.
It doesn't seem to interfere with the rest of my midi set up fortunately.

The main issue I was dealing with in v. 8.1 has been resolved.
This was the midi buffer size compensation.

Hi folks,

It's difficult to track all of the separate issues within a forum post.

If you're continuing to have problems with 8.1.1, please contact support:

http://www.ableton.com/pages/support/co ... al_support

with detailed information, system specs, etc.

Best,

issues should be posted via email

Dennis, can we trust 8.1.1 ?
I mean, here, on my i7/w7, I had no issues yet (2 days of use)
can I really work with it?

It's impossible to say. We will certainly continue evaluating and fixing bugs, and this will certainly not be the last bugfix update for Live 8.

This release is not the end-goal of our recent announcement about bugfixing - it's only the first step.

That being said, if it's working for you without problems and this is an improvement over your experiences with 8.1, then we're moving in the right direction.

Best,

you're moving in the right direction.. I'm sure about that!
It works WITHOUT ANY problems here, at home, on my HP dv7-3080ef laptop with 4Go RAM.
thanks for keeping us informed, Dennis :)
