Post by marky141 » Mon Jan 04, 2010 6:32 pm

Hi, i just received my Xone 2:d mixer in the post and I can't install the drivers on my pc. it runs halfway through the sequence then says 'installation failed'. (Error: 0x0006).
I am running windows vista 32 bit. Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for your time :-)

I had problems with it too, found out it was the built in webcam on my laptop that was preventing it from installing.

Worth uninstalling the drivers for yours if you've got one or unplug all usb powered equipment whilst installing.

Hey, cheers dude. I unplugged everything i had plugged into my usb ports apart from the mouse and gave it another go. It still failed at the same point in the installation with the same error message as before. Thanks for your suggestion :-)

install failed is often a corrupted driver file, tried re-downloading?

If not, it's almost definitely a driver incompatibility issue, which means you're screwed, cus they're hard to find and fix ;)

Sorry :D

Driver incompatability issues are normally caused by sub-standard drivers (in my experience), which are often found on inbuilt gear, like an on-motherboard soundcard or wireless card. If you're on a lappy, chances are it'll be something to do with that.

This link has another guy with the same issue, and in this case it was, again, the webcam. Try disabling your webcam, soundcard (if it's built in) and wireless (again built in) and give it another blast.
