How to use external effects?

Post by lila » Tue Mar 15, 2005 10:48 pm

Hi,
I just got a Behringer Virtualizer Pro effects processor, I also got a Motu 828 mk2.
now i am wondering how to set this up, should i get a mixer and run sends through the mixer or can the motu handle it all. i am worried about latency when I run it through the motu. i am on a G4 powerbook 1.25Ghz. I want to use reverb and delay from the behringer.

thanks alot

I would give it a try with the 828.
Set up a send in Live and route it to the behringer - then bring the behringer back in through another input. Set the Behringer to full wet and use the return channel to adjust your wet/dry mix.
You probably won't care too much about latency for delay and reverb effects if you are using it this way.

Now - if you don't like the sound of Live's mixer... but that is another thread...
