Dell. I wouldn't say that Apple displays are in the "stone ages", but Dell has a much better price for more connectivity (including DisplayPort) and their 30" display uses the same type of screen.

I've been happy with my LG as well.

I don't know about computer monitors but I heard LG makes a lot of the actual flat screens in TVs sold by different companies including Sony. So you're cutting out the middle man if you just go straight to LG. I've been happy with both my LG TV and monitor.

When there are so many better monitors that are way cheaper, better refresh rate (horrible ghosting on cinema displays), better policy regarding dead pixels (dell lets you trade in your whole monitor if there is ONE dead pixel... try doing that with an apple monitor), better picture quality, more (standardized) inputs and better dynamic range, I would seriously call it a waste of money to buy an apple cinema display. OK, maybe "stone-ages" was a bit harsh, but the only thing the apple displays have got going for them is that they are more "aesthetically" pleasing

not that this is your method of choice, but I spent $120.00 on a 22 inch monitor from costco, and I could'nt be happier........

but you cant impress chicks with a costco.. is that a russian brand?

what is for something you look at all day pretty secondary...
it actually is on a 22"..you dont see much of it anyway...

i just try to immagine what would happen if the fashion world would choose theier moddels the way you choose your monitor.. cheap anybolika stealed with short legs and a bit heavy?

The fashion world has NOTHING to do with my reality, so I can't really relate to that... but seriously, I would rather watch a movie on a nice monitor with no ghosting and HD resolution, then on a apple monitor. I couldn't care less of the monitor has black edges and says "Made in China" on it

but looking at myself in the mirror this morning after only getting 5 hours of sleep cause my 2-year old wanted to get up early to watch cartoons was not a pleasant site

I have a mac mini ppc4 1,25 ghz, nice thing but far too slow for serious music production.

Bought it 5 years ago.

The backsides of this computer are also that its a ppc, so I can't upgrade any further than 10.4, so no Chrome for me for example.

Of course the new intel macs dont suffer this.

Dont know, found a I7 pc for 800 euros, so their might be a good chance I will crossgrade to Windows again.

Just bought one (2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 4GB RAM)...
I was looking at a 13" Macbook Pro with the same spec but I really didn't need another laptop and I have an Asus 24" monitor I would want to pair it with. The Mac Mini was around $650 less. The extra savings went to the purchase of Logic Studio and other accessories. I bought the system exclusively so I could enroll in some of the Point Blank Online courses.
