Triggering clips via MIDI
Triggering clips via MIDI
Continuing my newbie clips/slots question series:
I am using the clips/slot feature in the Session view for composing and it has been working fantastic. The only problem is that I am playing guitar and don't want to take my hands off the instrument to trigger the start and ending of recording with these clips (I realize that I can go back and edit the waste in the loops afterwards, but I don't want to hamper the workflow in the moment).
The question I have is can I assign a single MIDI foot controller to trigger each single clip that is highlighted instead of having an individual control for each slot on each track? Make sense?
I ultimately would like to highlight the slot that the clip is going to be recorded in, hit the slot into record ready, start recording, hit the controller to stop recording and continue loop playing. But use the same controller for each active slot.
I would want one controller to work on whatever slot is highlighted and recording.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I don't really need the looping "JamMan" feature of this, although it is cool...
I just need to know how to have one controller on my MIDI pedalboard, enable and disable recording of a selected clip slot.
The way I see it now, if I have 5 tracks with 10 slots in them then I need a pedalboard with 50 buttons on it!
I just wonder if there is a way to make one controller button active for whatever slot is highlighted and ready to roll in a given track.

try this:

Also, i came up with a MidiPipe that lets you delete the last clip you recorded using your footpedal:
