You can fix it yourself.
Open the patch for editing. Choose Parameters from the View menu, then go down the Mod Mode column and choose whatever you want from the pulldown menu. Use "Bipolar" unless you're smart enough to know why you wouldn't want to use that. Save the patch and close. Presto. All done, and zero grovel turnaround time!

Hello,
i spent a huge amount of time improving the GrainFreeze device. It is now nearly click free, and uses a much more advanced buffer switching technique. I documented it as good as possible inside the patch, there is a lot to see there....
And the modulation / automation issues mentioned above are cleaned up too, of course.
As usual, all is still here:

Cheers, Robert
btw.: unfortunately the new version will break old Live sets since i had to change parameter ranges etc... If you already used the old version, you should rename the new one to GrainFreeze2 or something like this and keep the old version.

this comment was mainly related to the patches and documentation generally.
I can't get the new grain freezer to work properly. It doesn't seem to grab at all. Old device seems to be ok. but maybe some kind of user error. will investigate later.

that's odd. Do you get any error messages in the max window?

Awesome! Thanks a lot.
I'm just starting to scratch the surface of M4L but it's interesting to look at people's designs. So many creative people out there making really cool devices! Can't wait to check these out. Thanks for sharing Robert.

slow riot,
i think i know what went wrong in your case. please try downloading again. you might have grabbed a version with a fatal bug that was up there for 5 minutes or so...

Hey,
Thanks you again for these pure class _A_ devices!
Just an idea: Maybe include the version number in the device name so it is easier for everybody to keep track what is the latest one.
Cheers,
P.

Fantastic! Been checking out Grain Freeze & Doppler tonight. Wow!
Edit: Maybe version # would be good. Had no sound on freeze issue w/ Grain Freeze but then downloaded the new version from Jan. 11th and it works great.

It's working properly for me now (though quite possibly was down to user error before... was trying to time pressing 'freeze' shortly after a keyboard press... works much better with pressing freeze on a sustained note)... anyways, it's definitely operational now, thanks.

instant awesome soundscapers!

quick update: i added a device that allows to start / stop transport and fade in/out audio controlled by the computer clock. i made it for an upcoming installation and thought other might find it useful too...
