After migration: can't play multiple instruments unison

Post by aljen » Sat Jan 09, 2010 11:27 am

anymore

Shame on me, but I completely forgot that old silly neat trick that allowed me to click the red "dots" in every MIDI instrument slot in order to play multiple instruments in unison mode.

I've checked the prefs, but could not find the appropriate setting.

I am still using Ableton Live 5 (5.2.2) on a new iMac i5 with Snow Leopard.

T.i.a.!

Go to Preferences, click the Record/Warp/Launch tab and where it says "Exclusive," unhighlight Arm so it turns gray.

Alternately, hold down whatever the equivalent of the Shift key is for Macs (don't have one) and click on all of the red dots you want.

Thank you, the "arm" button did the job. It just took a little time to find it (I forgot to write I was on a German version of Live).

And yes, there is a shift button on Macs. Just imagine, they even have colour displays :-)
