I guess you should say "in my configuration, It is almost impossible to use M4L in 8.1.1"
cause I have NO problem here.

as Dennis adviced, I guess it should be more efficient to post issues/bugs in support category of the forum and make separated threads...
btw, I'm not from Abes or Administrator team,... just my 2 cents!

problems seems to be very dependant of the manner we use Live.
here:
- I have NO VSTi,
- I don't use audio tracks but only midi tracks (some with sampler + samples)
- I'm using m4L intensively
and my setup is in my signature (i7/w7)

none crash here since several day of use !
none!

Contacting support does help ya'know... They just got back to me regarding the above issue and solved it! :D

And what did you do to solve it?

They sent me an options.txt with the following line in it:
-_PluginAutoPopulateThreshold=0

Unfortunately, that line stops Live from auto-populating the plug-in parameter list, so you'll always need to use the manual configure mode with that setting present.

Anyway, this is apparently a recognised bug with some AU plugs and will be solved further down the line.

Had some weird crashes with 8.1, but so far, 8.1.1 is running smoothly.

As you were.

No problems here with 8.1.1 Suite. I was holding out with 8.0.8 but I took the plunge when the beta frenzy settled down. My tracks never get into the ridiculous 20 or 30 track count, but I do throw some funky weirdness at Live.
For example one of my sets has KT Granulator on a return, IK's Ampeg, Amplitube, three instances of TRacks(with oversampling and D/A protection enabled!), Stylus RMX(with chaos and time weirdness), Addictive Drums, -and- a bunch of native Live plugs. These are some pretty quirky plugins and Live just chugs along. Honestly, I can't remember the last time it crashed on me. Quality gear IMHO.

I just bought 8 and was using 6 which worked fine, now I'm running 8.1.1 and it's slow as all hell I CAN'T USE THIS PROGRAM ANYMORE my cpu is going into 50% with 4-5 simple tracks playing.

Serious waste of money now thank god I didn't uninstall 6...

Hi nadafarms,

You shouldn't be seeing that sort of CPU increase. There's clearly a problem with your setup somewhere. Please contact support to see if they can help you.

Deleted all my usb ports in device manager on XP to force windows to set them all up again with drivers & stuff, and installed Automap 3.4 after that Live took forever to start up, so trashed the preference.cfg, set all my MIDI, ASIO and VST directory parmeters again: Smooth as silk.

Fairly complex DAW but built & tweaked it myself

An easily reproducible crash I noticed in 8.09 still occurs in 8.11:

1. Load "Editing Arrangements.als"
2. Switch to Session View
3. Select the first track, Bass
4. Press Ctrl + right arrow three times

I'm running Windows 7 Professional.

Brian.
That one and other bugs are fixed with the latest beta, Live 8.1.2b1
Please see the following thread for the whole change log:

I'm using only audio files and complex warping mode.

Lots of weird clicks, pops and suddenly really loud audio clips. And today 3 crashes already.

Anyone else experiences something similar?
