The release album is groovy but the bootleg with all the derek wadsworth incidental music is a must have for all purveyors of nonsense

Re: What Are you Sampling tonight ?
When I was a little kid, Space 1999 was the only new Sci-Fi fix I could get in the years in-between the original Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica/Buck Rogers etc. Plus it was a lot more dry and serious than though shows (and much more realistic/believable)
What's the bootleg called?
Thanks,

Space 1999 was frighteningly real insight into the future (and indeed present)... And its uncannily accurate prophecy (yes prophecy) of the foreboding, penultimate year to the millennium is indeed unparalleled in any other science fiction, religion or fanatic belief (insert deity here)-
Take the 'Dinky Toys' Space 1999 Eagle 2 Lander; ...I had the fortune of owning one of these engineering master pieces in the mid 1970s. I absolutely loved it. There was another Eagle you could get with some kind of yellow nuclear waste drums strapped underneath and a winch..... but you didn't see Capt K' hoonin' it about one of those bad boys (and it was about £2.50) so gave it a miss...(was tempted by the winch though....)
Also had Koenig and the gray haired old fart action figures and some brown mekon headed alien dudey.... (Didn't have the old milf bird tho (as that would have been considered a 'doll' by 8 year old back then.)
NB: No-one's taken a serious look into the moon leaving orbit (albeit with a cool space station taken along for the ride) seriously and I sincerely hope they are not caught unawares. Say goodbye to surfing (for example)
flares, s-belts, nylon spiderman t-shirts n' monkey boots ftw.

Moon.
Great movie - great sounds.
Also, the Aliens from District 9.
But you won't recognise them once I'm done with 'em!

Met an old mate over the weekend....just been given a load of old eat static samples from the man Merv. So very, very old though (92-93)....
Still .....got the classic ricardo montablan "let them eat static" quote from the wrath of khan. Great for playing 'match the sample to the ES track' game at xmas too.
Merv reckons that these samples took months nay years to complile back in the day on proper hardware samplers and that us 'new bloods' have it too damn easy!!!
You can still catch Merv at festies and the like doing Eat Static right thru 2010 tho he's on his todd these days (now Joies left to do family stuff) (bless)- ---(That plug/spam was my payment for the free wav's you understand)
cheers Merv.

Ah - the mighty Merve.... I met him a few times during my festival days... proper legend! I have NEVER seen him awake in the day... (unless its early morning - which doesn't really count)
