don't do that...
if you need a probability gate... use beat repeats (read manual 'gate mode')

about 'Gate'...
I have 'ableton gate' or some kind of rack including a gate on my master...always.

Dont like beat repeat, because it doesn't follow grooves, and it has no envelopes, which makes it sound like a CD glitch. Me no like. :D But yeah, I was against messing with the master. Especially with psy trance ive been considering it as "cheating". But ive lately begun using a group track for that purpose, and re-sampling, which is nice if you suddenly have a nice jam going on. Everything goes through it before the master. Its part of my template now. I use it very carefully. Dont want those DJ cliche breakdowns on the master! :D

edit: anyway, been awake for a long time, im getting fog on me eyes. But I read the manual about the Beat Repeat. Honestly, I haven't been using it much at all. I didn't get it to do what I wanted some time ago, so I gave up on it. But ill give it another run. Thanks.

OK, ive tried the Free ones: storm, killer, and trigger gate.
Storm might be the nicest one, with 16 steps x 16 patterns. trigger was simple and tight, and Killer had to small interface and a bit sloppy sound. They all had good and bad bits. It was time consuming drawing envelopes with the Storm, but when a few are created, you would probably not be back for a while.

All these plugs had a lot of latency. If delay compensation was on, theyd fall out of sync completely. If delay compensation was of, theyd be in sync, but drum racks fall out of sync.
However with Lives own Gate plug, this didn't happen.

...guess I need some sleep. Make fresh new brain tomorrow!
