I've never had any problems with having different versions of Live on my computer.......though keep in mind that if you work on a track in a newer version, you won't be able to open that track again in an older one..

Hello,

From our FAQ:
Q:
I have a previous version of Live (i.e., Live 2, Live 3, etc.) on my computer. I'd like to know if it's okay to de-install versions 2/3 after I buy version 4. I'm worried that de-installing previous versions of Live will cause errors in my Sets or somehow affect the new version.
A:
You should not have any problems opening old Sets in Live 4. Furthermore, each version of Live is an independent version, so you can (but do not have to) remove older versions from your computer without affecting the current version.

Same goes for updated versions (4.04 -> 4.1.1 etc.).

Best,
Christian Kleine
