yo i have a vst and i dont want it on my ableton plug-ins folder anymore.
does anyone know how to remove the vst out of the folder?

You can't delete it from Live, but it's super easy to delete from Windows Explorer. If you actually installed it then just go to add/remove programs at uninstall it.

oh awesome , awesome. well i guess i deleted the uninstaller for this vst. does this mean i'm outa luck?

If you don't have an uninstaller just browse to your VST folder (commonly C:/Program Files/Vstplugins or C:/Program Files/Steinberg/Vstplugins) and delete it right out of the folder.

Then open up Live and it won't be there (or if you still have Live open, go into preferences and hit "rescan plugins")

Job done.

So my vst folder is a sub folder that ableton is already using so i cant click the vst's ?? (they're faded grey)

i use apple btw

any ideas?

You're silly, apples don't have files in them.

the general dir of vst's on mac os x is > mac hd/library/audio/plug-ins/vst

simply delete the vst from there and it's gone.

Sorry, for some reason I assumed you were using Windows - may have been the post that mentioned Windows Explorer, though I appreciate that the poster had made the same assumption.

You should be sorted now anyways.
