Re: New Akai products
oh my god..what a stupid product..its really not so much about function theese days? or am i missing something?
with this units the faders do 8 different functions? but they are no motor faders? how practical 8-/
akai would heve been better off making a 10 rotary encoder version instead a 9 fader 1 rotary...
and because the unit is intended to build customized setups i guess here is an usb hub included? is it?
who designs such products? and who frees budgets for them?
the peter principel in action?

3phase, someone with a high-function autism has been in charge of AKAI design for quite some time.
What is really flying over my head is this whole itouch-keyboard thing. it looks too big to fit in with the portability ethos of the itouch. the LPK25 usb keyboard, and a decent netbook is the same price-point and just as portable with a better OS.
oh well, they'll probably sell hundreds of thousands, if not gazillions.

Re: New Akai products
Wait. How is the APC 20 any fuglier than the APC 40 (or the Launchpad, for that matter)! I'm sure this is blasphemy to some, but they all look really crappy and plastic-like to me.

launchpad looks great what's wrong with plastic? What would you have made it of? Wood & steel?
