new teaser video ableton/serato

I don't get exactly what he's doing because the waveforms don't indicate anything.. only thing i notice is audio being fed into ableton from serato which I already do although using 2 laptops. it doesn't really show any clip manipulation thru the control vinyls. like the comments said, it's just looks like multitracking. got this from Scratchworx BTW..

Looks like some dood just messing with serato and live independently and as is... (Woopee a hamster scratching around processed though live...)



Can allready do way way more interesting things with Tracktor and Live as is - at least you can sync live to tracktor's master tempo, or visa versa already which for alot of what intersting is half the battle.

I do hope this is for DJs as well as hamsters.

The only odd bit I see is when he swaps the left turntable audio file in serato using the mixer, it is recorded as a new clip in Ableton. Otherwise, I don't see anything that couldn't be done with 2 turntables and even an X-Session pro.

If this partnership is just about letting Serato users record and edit what they do using Live, I bet many will be disappointed. It'd be useful, but underwhelming.

i think that's a mackie d4 pro, which is midi capable, making it possible for some mappings... not too much wizardry apparent. the serato-ableton collab has some announcements tomorrow at 11am PST, at least on CDM. eagerly looking forward to it.
