Re: NAMM so far... Nothing!
The best non acoustic drum/device/instrument I ever heard/ played. Had chance to try it - friend of mine played in Jack deJohnette Trio and the boss used the Wavedrum. Needless to say making good use of it. I searched for one since than, but they were quickly sold out and no one would part with it.ze2be wrote:Is Wavedrum really just a toy? Hmm, im kinda curious about it. Its a lot more then just a drum pad!rikhyray wrote:The best non acoustic drum/device/instrument I ever heard/ played. Re: NAMM so far... Nothing!
Universal Audio has a quite astounding new plugin deals for the Uad, mxr-dunlop guitar models and ampex tape sims, best of all the Massive Passive Eq. If you're a Uad junkie this means absolute drilling of your bank account.
Live 9 Suite, audio trackles (several audio tracks that crackle)

Re: NAMM so far... Nothing!
You can play it with hands, fingers and unlike Roland with its disgusting rubber surface, you have regular drum head. All I remember- I loved it but it was over 10 years back. Also question is if all the features of original (except look) are there or just the name.ze2be wrote:Hmm, im kinda curious about it. Just downloaded the PDF manual http://www.korg.com/Product.aspx?pd=563
here what it says
The sound of the WAVEDRUM will respond to the subtle
nuances in the way that you strike, rub, or scratch it
with your fingers or hand, or the way that you strike it
with a stick, mallet, or brush. It will also respond differently
depending on whether you strike the center of the
head, the edge, or the rim. The WAVEDRUM produces
expressive and dynamic range that rivals that of an
acoustic drum or percussion instrument, covering the full
spectrum of performance gestures from a light brush
across the head to a hard rimshot.

2nd question.. when will they release it in black, red, yellow and pink???
Re: NAMM so far... Nothing!
Well, dont care anymore, after reading the manual- Only audio out, no midi of any kind = I am not interested. So let Korg do pink, green , magenta, zebra or rainbow... Probably will release Wavedrum Pro after 2 years, pathetic...

how many people want a bongo in their live show but feel the size is a restriction?

beats me wrote:I'm saving my excitement for the 2010 Winter Bug Fix Symposium. New gear is cool and all but can't even touch the excitement of when your software finally does what it said it could do 9 months ago and without crashing. Plus beta testers are a crazy group of motherfuckers AND chicks get in for free. I heard this year they're even adding an extra 100,000 square foot tent to accommodate all the new developers that swear their software works now. Stoked!
That's hilarious!!!!

ok that was freaking cool..trikster_b wrote:http://www.pearldrum.com/epro-preview.html
This looks pretty awesome. The drum module isn't that much different from others, but it looks and feels like a real acoustic kit, which is great for people like me who have played acoustic for years. Also, at the end of the video, it shows them replacing the pads with drumheads, so you get 2 kits in one, which is pretty damn cool.
Price is $3200 though.
edit..
o but i wouldn't bother with it unless i was either a rock star or if i only played drums

And I'm still sort of underwhelmed. I was very much looking forward to getting some news on the Linndrum 2
