I don't know whether your joking around or not. The instruments in Ableton sound great, but here is another synth that I really like: http://www.acesynth.com/

Are you really saying you bought Live Suite without knowing what it included?

suite includes

1 x virtual analog synth
1 x fm synth
a loan of physical modeled synths.
1 x decent sampler

vintage drum machine samples
session drum kits
latin percussion
Essential instrument packs.
More audio and midi effects than you can shake a stick at.

There is more than enough to keep you going in there. If you are starting out then I would learn this lot first over extra vst's. After all you have paid a lot of money for all this.

even without the suite...
Live has 'simpler' device !
although the oscillators are not Algo calculated... it'll get you started on additive/subtractive...
to get the most out of it...
download and install the Live7 legacy pack
http://www.ableton.com/livepacks

also... in the 'Library' go to
Waveforms->Components
or...
->Synth..
and try out the waveforms in there...
great sampled oscillators..saws/squares/sines etc...
drag them into simpler and start working!

...and you can layer many simpler(s) with the use of the instrument rack.../drum rack
