As much as I love Apple stuff, they really bonked that design. I hated it.

Agreed. I still contend that it looks like a toilet seat. Now I guess it's a wooden toilet seat...

Personally I dig the integral carrying handle. There's been a few times I wish I had one of them - holding your notebook computer in one hand is always tempting fate.

We use CF-27 toughbooks at my workplace, they're not the fastest (PIIIs in 'em) but DAMN they're cool.

They were plastic. And thick. I am happy with where I am at now.


(admittedly, I do still miss my wallstreet and my pizmo sometimes, when I feel a bit nostalgic for my early college days)
